Here for sale is a pair of Italian made Dellorto DRLA 48’B’ Carburettors on a Ford Pinto OHC Intake Manifold. These are Original, Italian made Dellorto DRLA 48’B’ Carburettors, which we believe are designed by Dellorto for boosted/forced induction engine applications. The spindle bushings on these particular carburettors feature specially machined seal grooves, seal and star locking washers. The auxiliary venturi fuel passages are surrounded by specially machined o-ring grooves and o-ring seals. The auxiliary venturi and choke venturi locking grub screws have fibre washer seals and special locking caps. The float chamber cover gaskets are of nitrile rubber construction. Although we have not tested these carburettors under pressure/boost, we are confident that they are designed by Dellorto to work under forced induction conditions. We have tested these carburettors on our naturally aspirated test engine, and they work beautifully, and are fully responsive to tuning adjustments, as expected. We made a considerable effort to get the throttle and balance levers to work harmoniously together in conjunction with the intake manifold spacing. The levers are now fully adjustable for precise idle speed control, precise balancing of the 2 carburettors, and for accurate full throttle/closed throttle control. The intake manifold has a vacuum take off union for the brake servo hose, a coolant union for the coolant hose and an additional take-off point if required. This additional take off point, we currently have blanked off with a grub screw, as shown in the photos. This can be unscrewed and a union can be screwed in it’s place if required. This manifold also has the screw threads present to install a ford type throttle cable anchor/bracket, as seen here for classic ford type throttle cable. (bracket not included with the carbs but is available separately if required). The carburettors have built-in vacuum take off unions (one per-barrel) which allow the use of a manometer type carburettor balancer, or you can use an airflow meter like the STE here. These carburettors feature an ignition distributor vacuum advance port for connecting the vacuum pipe on to. The carburettors are currently calibrated as follows. Chokes 40mm Emulsion tubes 9164.2 Main jets 180 Air corrector jets 200 Idle jets 60 Pump jets 33 Needle valves 2.25. We can re-calibrate these carburettors to suit your application or request – Please ask. These are genuine, fully restored & tested, Italian Made Dellorto DRLA 48’B’ Carburettors – They are beautiful and they are special.
